It’ll cost thousands of dollars to fix a Cedar Rapids storefront after a driver crashed her vehicle through the entry Saturday morning, according to Cedar Rapids Police.

Authorities said it happened around 11:00 a.m. at the Dollar Tree at 3005 Wiley Blvd Southwest.

According to the watch commander on duty, two females were in a sedan near the Dollar Tree when the driver either became distracted or her foot slipped and hit the accelerator.

The vehicle smashed into the front of the store causing around $10,000 worth of damage, law enforcement estimated.

No one in the store at the time of the crash was injured. The driver and her passenger were also unhurt.

Police cited the driver for failing to provide insurance, not having a valid Iowa driver’s license and for reckless driving.
