MONTICELLO, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Camp Courageous is hoping to add more solar panels to their camp in Monticello through a four-phase project.

The camp has already installed solar panels on the roofs of their Multi-Purpose Building and Indoor Pool, completing phase one and two of their project through donations.

Camp Director Charlie Becker said adding the solar panels will save the camp thousands of dollars in the future.

Phase three of their plan involves installing solar panels on the Maintenance Building, three Camper Cabins, and the Main Lodge.

The final phase of the project will be adding solar panels to their Pavillion.

People who donate $1,000 to help with the solar panels will be recognized with a special solar panel plaque.

The camp has not said when they expect the entire project to be complete.
