Amish buggy driver seriously injured after crash with vehicle in Lamont Township

LAFEYETTE COUNTY, Wis. (KCRG) - Deputies responded to Highway 81 at Kathy Road Friday for a car vs Amish buggy accident.

Authorities say 19-year-old Tyler Knight from Janesville was driving eastbound in Lamont Township when he lost control while driving on a curve.

The car crossed the centerline, hitting a westbound horse and buggy being driven by 39-year-old Katie Ebersol from Darlington.

Ebersol was ejected from the buggy and has serious injuries.

She was taken to Memorial Hospital by Green County EMS and then flown to the UW Hospital by Medflight.

Knight wasn't injured in the accident and was cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control.

Green County EMS, Darlington, Green County EMS, Darlington Fire Department and UW Med Flight assisted at the scene.
