DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- An effort to end Iowa's bottle deposit law has stalled in the Legislature.
The House Ways and Means subcommittee discussed the bottle bill Tuesday morning. This one would have eliminated the 5 cent deposit on cans and bottles and expand curbside recycling.
A separate House bill that would expand the deposit to include juice, sports drink and water bottles has also died.
The Senate is still considering a total repeal of the bottle deposit. A subcommittee will discuss that Wednesday.
