Boscobel woman sentenced to 16 years for killing daughter

BOSCOBEL, Wis. (KCRG-TV9) -- A Wisconsin judge on Friday sentenced a woman to 16 years in prison for killing her 3-month-old daughter.

32-year-old Renae Bellis of Boscobel, Wisconsin, pleaded no contest to charges of first degree reckless homicide and obstructing an officer.

Prosecutors said Bellis initially told police the baby's father hit the baby on July 9. Later she turned herself in and admitted that she hit the baby.

Her sentence also includes10 years of supervision after her prison term.
