CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG)- A former New York City mayor who is testing the Presidential waters is in Iowa today to talk about climate change.

Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is in Iowa to talk climate change and premier a documentary on the subject. He participated in a round table discussion about renewable energy at a Cedar Rapids company.

Michael Bloomberg visited Paulson Electric in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday to participate in a roundtable discussion on renewable energy with area lawmakers and business leaders.

Bloomberg is in Iowa to show a documentary on climate change he funded entitled “Paris to Pittsburg.”

The title is a play on President Trump’s explanation for pulling out of the Paris climate accord last year.

At the time he said “I was elected by the citizens of Pittsburg, not Paris.”

Bloomberg thinks climate change will be a key campaign issue in 2020.

“It’s having a big impact in Iowa which is why the director of the movie, and I had nothing to do with it, put a bunch of Iowans in there to talk about their problems,” he said.

The documentary on climate change premiers in Des Moines Tuesday evening.

It will air globally in 172 countries on the National Geographic Channel on December 12th.

Bloomberg has said he expects to make a decision about running for President by February.
