UPDATE: Firefighters rescue dog from duplex fire in southeast Cedar Rapids

Firefighters rescued a dog after a fire Tuesday. The fire destroyed the duplex. No people were home at the time.
Firefighters responded to 605 15th Street SE about 2:00 p.m. That's near McKinley Middle School.
Smoke and flames were pouring from the duplex home.
Authorities are still looking into the cause.

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says all occupants of a house at 15th Street SE and 6th Avenue SE are accounted for.
Firefighters said no one was inside the house. A male occupant was unaccounted for, but has been found safe at another location.
There are no reports of injuries.
Fire crews remain on scene.

One person is unaccounted for following a Cedar Rapids house fire.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department was called to the home at 1:59 p.m.Tuesday and found heavy smoke and flames from the home. Video and pictures from the street show a lot of damage to the home.
One person who lives in the home is unaccounted for but have not found any body in the charred home. Investigators are searching for that person.
The Cedar Rapids Assessor's website says the home is owned by Savannah Property Management, LLC out of Alburnett. It lists the home as a two-family conversion with six bedrooms. It was built in 1913.
