A woman suspected in a fatal Cedar Rapids hit and run in October has been arrested.
Cedar Rapids police say 25-year-old Ashley Nicole Pennington of Cedar Rapids was brought to the Linn County Jail on Thursday after spending time in the Polk County Jail on unrelated charges.
Police say Pennington was driving a 2000 Honda Accord, which had been reported stolen on September 26, when she failed to yield on a left-hand turn at C Street and 20th Avenue SW on October 1. Pennington collided with a motorcycle driven by 63-year-old Michael Olson of Cedar Rapids. Olson died as a result of his injuries on October 17.
The warrant for Pennington was issued on November 2. She is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, second degree theft and forgery.
