Semi driver involved in crash on Highway 151 extricated after four hours
UPDATE: After four hours, the driver has been extricated from the semi and taken by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries.
Highway 151 is now open. A portion of the roadway was closed for around two hours as crews worked to free the driver from the semi.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office says that the driver lost control, stuck a guardrail, went into the ditch, where the semi rolled onto its side.
Multiple authorities responded to the scene, including a team of doctors from St. Luke's.
Area fire and rescue crews have been trying to extricate the driver of a semi, involved in an accident on Highway 151 around 5:30 Saturday evening.
The accident happened on northbound Highway 151 between the Marion Airport and Springville.
When TV9 crews arrived to the scene, the semi was lying on its side.
Authorities are working to get the semi-driver, who is alive, out of the vehicle.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office was on scene directing traffic to one lane, causing delays.
