DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Authorities responded to a four-vehicle crash at 9:46 p.m. on November 7 near Highway 61 and the Twin Valley Drive intersection.

An investigation found an ambulance, driven by 26-year-old Toni Blint with Paramount Ambulance Service, was driving northbound on Highway 52 south with the emergency lights and sirens on when Blint didn't obey the traffic control device and hit two cars driving southbound on Highway 61.

One of the vehicles hit by the ambulance then collided with a vehicle that was parked at the Twin Valley Drive and Highway 61 intersection.

31-year-old Branden Boerner and 70-year-old Lowell Tiedt were identified as the two people who were driving the vehicles headed southbound involved in the accident. Authorities say 47-year-old Tammy Thrailkill was driving the vehicle that was stopped at the intersection and hit by one of the southbound vehicles.

The four drivers along with four passengers were taken to Mercy and Finley Hospital for minor injuries.

Total damage for the vehicles was estimated at $80,000.

Blint was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, Dubuque Police Department, Dubuque FIre/EMS, and Key West Fire/EMS responded to the crash.
