Amazon employees are going to see more money in their pockets starting November 1.

On Tuesday the company announced their minimum wage will be raised to $15 an hour, more than twice the federal minimum of $7.25.

Business experts say the announcement could create a buzz about increasing the minimum wage in Iowa.

"That robust debate we're having in Iowa about what is an appropriate living wage for people to work,” said Matthew Mitchell, associate professor of international strategy and business at Drake University.

The last time Iowa raised the minimum wage was 10 years ago.
