UPDATE: Accident on Highway 30 causes serious injury

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The Cedar Rapids Police Department is still investigating a single-vehicle accident that was reported on Highway 30 at around 7:57 a.m. on July 10.

A 24-year-old male was the only occupant of the vehicle involved in the accident.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department said the driver sustained life threatening-injuries after being ejected from his vehicle after losing control while heading westbound on Highway 30.

Police officers and firefighters arrived to find bystanders administering emergency medical care to the victim.

The victim was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The name of the victim is being withheld until all members of the family have been notified.
