CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) – Little Sports teaches children the fundamentals of their favorite games with the goal of helping children fall in love with being active.

“We make it fun for kids to learn about sports, I believe with that proper training at an early age, and if they can continue those fundamental skills throughout their childhood, they’re more likely to continue to succeed and continue to enjoy athletics and just stay active for a lifetime,” Eichhorn said. “We use proper age appropriate equipment, we use age appropriate drills and instruction.”

The six week Little Sluggers course starts Monday at 10:30 a.m. It teaches the basics of tee-ball and baseball including hitting, throwing, and fielding. Eichhorn said he wanted to offer the course early to allow families to spend time together in the evenings and weekends.

Little Sluggers is $42 for the full session. There is also an evening course on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. for $35. To sign up Eichhorn asks for participants to use his  website.
