CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) – The Moose Riders from The Cedar Rapids Moose Lodge donated $5,500 to the “House Party” after school program's new basketball court.

The group donated all of the proceeds from its annual auction to the program after officials gave a presentation about what House Party does for children in the community.

Program Director Parnell Davis said the kids are enjoying the new court.

“It screams fun, it was kind of slow process getting it started, as far as getting it built,” Davis said. “When the kids seen there was progress being made their eyes just lit up.”

He said the donation is like a Christmas gift.

“It’s something special, you know we got parents, teachers and everybody that drives by this neighborhood, and for them to see all the fun that the kids are having, it draws more kids in and it just enhances the entire program,” he said.
