DYERSVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - A 21-year-old from Dyersville won $10,000 on a scratch-off ticket last week.

Anthony Botts bought a winning ticket of the Iowa Lotter's "Double Match" scratch game at Casey's on Ninth Street in Dyersville after he was done working the night shift.

"I work night shift, so every night I get off at 2 a.m. and the only place open is the Casey's in Dyersville," said Botts, who works at Modernfold in Dyersville.

Botts said he often stops after work for something to eat and requests the cashier to choose a scratch ticket for him.

"My total bill for what I bought was $21 and I told them that was my lucky number," Botts said. "As I was scratching off the ticket, I noticed that one of the matching numbers was 21, and that's the number I won off of."

On Friday Botts claimed his prize at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

He said he will use to use the winnings to pay off debt.
