20 Iowa Shopko locations closing; Oelwein, Toledo stores included

Wisconsin-based retailer Shopko announced it's closing 70 percent of its stores after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Iowa has 36 Shopko locations, mostly in small towns. Twenty of those locations are set to close.

Locations include:

Bloomfield

Burlington

Chariton

Cherokee

Clarinda

Eldora

Emmetsburg

Estherville

Forest City

Fort Madison

Glenwood

Greenfield

Ida Grove

Missouri Valley

Oelwein

Onawa

Toledo

Vinton

Webster City

Liquidations at these stores will be carried out in phases. Closings are set to begin in March with all of these stores closed by the end of May.
