Recycle Gala - Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity
Fabulously funky “trashion” show in benefit of Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity. All funds raised will be used for Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building safe, decent, affordable housing in Linn & Benton Counties.
Power of the Purse - United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties
Power of the Purse+ is the signature United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties’ annual fundraising event supporting 30 local partner agencies and United Way community initiatives. The Power of the Purse+ event will open the online live silent auction on Friday, October 22, 2021. The live event will be held the following Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Center.
Scouting for Food - Bag Pickup
Scouts from many eastern Iowa units will be coming by your home on Saturday to pick up your Scouting for Food donations. If they left a bag on your door, they’ll be back to collect for HACAP. This is the Scouts’ biggest community-wide event each year and they appreciate your support.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s - Alzheimer’s Association
Funds are used locally for care and support programs like support groups, one-on-one consultations and education programs. They will also be used for research state, nation and worldwide. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
PAWS in the Park - Friends Helping Friends
PAWS in the Park Dog Walk is a fundraiser walk in the park with your favorite canine companion(s) - all to benefit the homeless pets at the Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control. The event is hosted by the Friends Helping Friends Foundation and will include Pet Contests and pet related vendor booths. Food trucks will also be available to provide refreshments. All participants will receive an FHFF sun visor and a bag full of goodies.
Mainstage Concert 1: A Pandemic Memorial Requiem - Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale
As a tribute to those who died or are still affected by the COVID Pandemic, the Concert Chorale is joined by an orchestra and distinguished soloists for a performance of Mozart’s “Requiem.” Representatives from Cedar Rapids’ diverse faith community will offer readings between of the composition’s movements.

Financially Fit 40.1K - Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa
Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa’s 2nd annual JA Financially Fit 40.1K allows participants to be physically and financially fit with JA. This virtual family friendly event has participants log activities, utilizing the Racery website or application, that will convert to miles towards a 40.1K (24.92 miles). Any activity counts; running, biking, yoga, dance, yard work, and household chores included. All participants receive a race t-shirt.
Get your company involved for wellness initiatives- challenge your coworkers to finish first or try a new activity. New this year, we plan to host in-person meet ups; Get together with fellow racers for a walk or jog on a local trail or host yoga in the park.
Go Red for Women - American Heart Association - Iowa City
Go Red For Women provides a platform for women and their families to lead healthier lives, and drive collective action for community transformation. It’s not just about wearing red; it’s not just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about: Providing women with opportunities to prioritize and take charge of their own health; Building communities that support and provide access to healthy choices; Demanding equal access to healthcare for all women and their families; Increasing women in STEM in upcoming generations.
Nature’s Noel - Indian Creek Nature Center
This long-running, beloved holiday fundraiser returns as an in-person event for 2021. It takes place annually on the first Saturday in December at Indian Creek Nature Center. Guests come to shop for wreaths, tree toppers, and other holiday décor that’s lovingly handmade with fresh, fragrant greens by Friends of the Nature Center members. Frozen soups, appetizers and artisan vendors round out the holiday market.
