On Saturday May 13, you can join the JDRF one walk and show the world that together, everyone can help conquer type 1 diabetes (T1D). When you participate in the JDRF One Walk, the money you raise powers more research, enables more advocacy, and funds more support to the 1.45 million Americans living with T1D. Camp Courageous – Cruisin’ for Camp Courageous

With over 400 cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other vehicles, Cruisin’ for Camp Courageous is one of Iowa’s largest charity car shows! On Sunday May 21 from 10am-4pm you’ll see hundreds of vehicles on display at Camp Courageous. Early registration is $15 per vehicle and $20 for day-of event registration, which is open from 8am-noon. There will be fun for the whole family, with silent and live auctions, camp activities, craft shows, train rides, and so much more!

Families Helping Families – Scramble Fore Children Golf Tournament

Families Helping Families is having a “Scramble Fore Children Golf Tournament” May 25 at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The tournament will be held at 11am with a 12pm Tee Off. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting Families Helping Families and another nonprofit organization.

United Action for Youth – 18th Annual Festival of Flowers

Each year, the United Action for Youth’s annual Festival of Flowers has over 100 entries of beautiful arrangements donated to then be auctioned off! This year the event will be held at the Graduate Hotel on May 25th at 5:30pm. These gorgeous designs are created by professional florists, local artists, community members, and local youth. All proceeds raised from the Festival of Flowers support the United Action for Youth’s mental health services and programs. The UAY serves over 2,500 local youth and families throughout the year. Marion Metro Kiwanis – BBQ Rendezvous

A day filled with FREE FAMILY FUN! The Marion Metro Kiwanis Club is hosting their 11th Annual BBQ Rendezvous at Lowe Park on Saturday June 3. There will be BBQ vendors from around the region providing delicious ribs and sandwiches, along with a variety of beverages. You’ll also hear live music from local bands throughout the day. All proceeds raised will go towards the Kiwanis Miracle Field, where kids with disabilities can play baseball in a fun and safe environment. Visit their website for more information.

Epilepsy Foundation – Walk to End Epilepsy

Join the Epilepsy Foundation on Saturday June 3 for the Annual Walk to End Epilepsy at City Park, Shelter #6 in Iowa City, starting at 8am. You can join the walk in-person or even virtually to raise awareness and funs to help END EPILEPSY. There is no fee to register, but all are encouraged to fundraise as a team, and help the 32,000 people in Iowa who have epilepsy.
