(Gray News) - An Amber Alert for a 2-year-old girl in New Mexico has been canceled after she was found safe.

The statewide alert was issued Monday after police said 2-year-old Italy Hernandez had been taken by her father, 29-year-old Francisco Hernandez, that morning in Belen.

Italy was found safe and unharmed around 9 p.m. Monday, according to KOAT.

Hernandez was wanted by police for a stabbing. It is unclear if he is in custody at this time.
