CDC recommendations for phase 1C include those with pre-existing conditions
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Question: “I turn 65 in March and am high risk for complications. Would I be in Phase 1C?”
Source: Centers for Disease Control
Answer: Unfortunately, we don’t know when people with pre-existing conditions will become eligible for the vaccine here in Iowa. But there are signs that it could happen in Phase 1C.
That’s because the CDC has given out its recommendations for Phase 1C, which includes those people 16 to 64 with underlying medical conditions.
But that’s just a guideline. Iowa’s Infectious Disease Advisory Council has not issued their recommendation guidance for Phase 1C yet, although it does consider the CDC’s recommendation.
When it does, Governor Reynolds’ Administration then can accept, amend or deny the recommendation.
