’It still does not feel real’ Tristan Wirfs’ mother, Sarah, reflects on watching her son play his rookie season in the NFL
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - After stepping down from her job at Target after 28 years, it has been a whirlwind ride for Sarah Wirfs following her son, Tristan, around the country and watching him play in rookie season for the Tampa Buccaneers.
“This year was the first time I’ve ever been to an NFL game.” Sarah Wirfs said.
“It’s been really crazy just being able to travel around the country. Going to Denver, and the Carolinas, again some of these places I’ve never been. Lambeau, I’ve never been to before. It still does not feel very real,” Wirfs added.
Sarah’s first trip to Lambeau field was a special one as the Buccaneers beat the Packers for the NFC championship and a trip to the Suoer Bowl on Tristan’s 22nd Birthday.
“I don’t think he will never forget this in lifetime his 22nd birthday.” Sarah said.
“I mean it’s probably the best birthday present I’ve ever got.” Tristan said via Zoom. “My mom is getting me some good ones to it is definitely up there.:”
Yes, Sarah will be in the stands in Tampa Bay for Super Bowl 55.
“Just officially found out this morning that he does have tickets.” Wirfs said. “Never in my life did I ever think I would be going to a Super Bowl, let alone going to Super Bowl to watch my son play in it. I don’t even have enough words to describe it. It is going to be the most amazing experience.”
