IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - City officials plan on removing snow from downtown streets on Tuesday morning, leading to some vehicles being towed if improperly parked.

The city of Iowa City will tow vehicles that are parked in designated tow-away zones in the downtown district, starting at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5. The area of emphasis will be between Prentiss Street on the south end to Market Street on the north end, and Madison Street on the west end to Gilbert Street on the east end. Towing will also take place in designated spaces along North Clinton Street as far north as Church Street.

Vehicles can be parked in a parking ramp or on-street spaces outside of the designated zone.

Owners of towed vehicles can call the police department, using a non-emergency number, at (319) 356-5275.
