Cyclones nearly upset No. 2 Baylor, but fall 76-65

AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State nearly pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season hosting No. 2 Baylor, but the Cyclones couldn’t close the deal and lost 76-65.
Baylor led most of the first half, but the Cyclones never trailed by double digits and only trailed 36-32 at halftime. The Bears started the 2nd half on an 8-2 run to lead 44-34. The Cyclones chipped away at the lead and briefly led 55-53 with just over 10 minutes to go in the second half. But Baylor went on a 13-0 run which sealed the victory.
Four players finished in double figures for the Cyclones, Javan Johnson finished with a team-high 17 points.
The Cyclones fall to 2-5 overall on the season and travel to Texas on Tuesday.
