CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Marion Christian Church on 10th Street was hit hard by the storm. A giant tree snapped and crushed the roof of the classrooms at the church doing massive damage

TV9′s witnessed two young men from Linn-Mar High School, who are not affiliated with the church, working to help clean up the church property.

“My house wasn’t as affected by the storm,” said Alejandro Archila Notch. “I saw this and I knew I should probably help out because usually there wasn’t a lot of people helping around here so. I just felt the need I could help out.

Not only was the church roof damaged, but the wind also blew out part of the A-frame in the chapel.

“We saw a lot of beat up houses,” said Ryan Skogerboe. “When I get home, I texted him to see if he wanted to come with me and help clean up some of the stuff the next day.”
