CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - An eastern Iowa social services organization is one of the places coordinating the distribution of federal funding for rental assistance, organization officials said on Monday.

Waypoint said the funding can be used by people to help pay back-due rent and certain moving costs due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The funds were part of the CARES Act enacted by the federal government.

The funds that Waypoint is coordinating distribution for are available for Linn, Benton, and Jones Counties.

Those interested in the program can call (319) 366-7999.
