Marion planning free storm debris collection this week

MARION, Iowa (KCRG) - The city of Marion announced that it will be assisting in storm cleanup through a debris pickup program.

Collection of storm debris, such as branches and tree limbs, will begin on Monday, July 13, and continue into the week, according to city officials. Residents should put debris on the terrace between the sidewalk and the curb for collection.

Yard waste can also be dropped off at 195 35th Street between 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on most weekdays. The facility has extended hours on Tuesdays until 5:45 p.m., and is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Residents can call the Marion Public Services Department between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday with questions.
