CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Police and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in the 400 block of 17th Street SE at 1:38 a.m. on June 4.

Police say a witness told them a man used a gas can to light a 2013 Equinox on fire before walking away.

The witness said the man may have been burned while starting the fire, and that a woman was accompanying the man.

Officers later found two people in the 700 block of 16th Street SE who they say matched the witness’ description.

Police said the man, Raashawn Langford, 43, had singe marks on his hands. Langford was arrested for Public Intoxication and Arson-2nd degree.

Officials said the vehicle belonged to the sister of the woman who was with Langford. Her name has not been released.
