Brendan and I have been friends most of our lives. We lived accross the street from each other growing up and he was one year ahead of me in school. We were freinds. We both grew up and went in different directions with our lives. We reconnected in our late 30's and fell in love. Who knew the boy accross the street could make me so happy??? We started dating a little over two years ago and have moved in togheter. Between the two of us we have our own little Bradey bunch with 3 kids a piece. Life gets crazy, but we have never been happier.
This past weekend we had a weekend planned at the Tama casino to spend some alone time together and go to Rockfest. In the line up was Foghat, Slaughter, Saliva, and Brett Micheals. Brendan met Slaughter on Friday night at the steakhouse and got us some back stage passes. I was so excited but had no idea what he had planned. We went to the concert met Foghat and Slaughter and watched the amazing show. After watching Brett Micheals perform Brendan grabbed my hand and brought me over to the gate. We stood in line to meet Brett!! I was so excited. The time came to meet him, I was shaking. I got my picture taken with him and was rushed away by the gaurds. I heard Brendan and Brett yelling my name to come back. I turned around and Brendan was on his knee infront of Brett asking me to marry him. I started to cry, everyone was clapping, Brett had a huge smile on his face, and I looked at Brendan knowing that I would never love anyone the way I love him. He is an amazing man and for all that he does for me and my children I am the luckies girl in the world. Plus...who gets engaged to a wonderful guy with Brett Micheals hand on their shoulder?? Me :)

The past three years have been the best three years of my life! When I was a senior in high school, I met Rj (my fiance!). Ever since we met we had an instant connection and now have the strongest relationship I could imagine. He is my other half...my everything. We are opposite, yet completely the same. I could not imagine my life any differently. My dream is coming true! I get to marry my best friend!
When we first met, Rj and I didn't go to the same schools. So, for my prom, I asked him by buying hundreds of balloons, filling them with his favorite candies, and then filling his entire car from front-to-back and door-to-door with them. He loved this and it was hilarious. So, for our proposal he wanted to do something as unforgettable. On August 5th, 2011 (my birthday!) Rj purposed to me :) Since it was my birthday, he told me that I should get pampered. To do this, he sent my sister and I to get a full body massage at a spa. This is something I never do since we have a 14-month-old son, work, and go to school. It meant a whole lot to me to get to relax. When we walked out of the spa, he was standing there with rose petals on the ground and asked me! He was standing there, so nervous, with a bunch of people watching. This proposal was so romantic and I was so surprised. The second he started talking I started crying. I will never forget this moment ever. I was so surprised! I could not believe this was happening! I am so happy to start our life together :)

Our story starts off with Ash and I meeting for while in Physical Therapy school at The University of Iowa. As fate would have it, we were randomly chosen as anatomy lab partners. We quickly became friends and then one night out to eat with our classmates we sat together and fell in love over a massive bowl of con queso dip. I figured if she could keep up eating with me, she was a keeper.
Anyways, our engagement was suppose to take place a few weeks prior but someone had other plans. My future baby nephew, Maverick, decided that he was ready to enter the world a little early so my plans were placed on hold. He can repay me when he's playing centerfield for the Red Sox.
So the actual engagement day took place on Saturday, August 6th. It was a whirlwind of a day and I was a ball of stress to see if I could actually pull this off. I decided to make Ash go on a scavenger hunt to some of our favorite places that hold special meaning to us.
She made her first stop at Java Creek in Cedar Rapids, our favorite study and food spot. Next it was on to Coral Ridge Cinema, where we had our first date and she dragged me to see Twilight. Third spot was to Performance Physical Therapy in Coralville/North Liberty, which is owned by our favorite teacher from PT school and represented this crazy, last two years of grad school we spent together. And the final spot where I knelt down was at a scenic spot along our favorite hiking trail off Linder Point in Coralville. I’m man enough to admit I was a crying, mess but I’m pretty sure I made sure to ask for her hand in marriage and now begins our journey together!
Gots to make sure to give a shout out to Ty Burke, Shane Nissen and all the business who were so gracious to help me pull this off!

Nathan and Molly started dating back in 2002, in 8th grade. While neither of them would have ever imagined back then that they would be spending the rest of their lives together, fate has a unique way of making itself known. The couple dated exclusively throughout high school and even chose the same college. Nathan knew that he had a lucky catch with Molly, and he figured it was a now or never type of situation. Molly knew from the beginning that she wanted to go to Siebke Hoyt; it had practically become a family tradition. Her mother’s ring was from the store, and her brother had made his engagement purchase from them as well. Using the stone from his great grandmother’s diamond wedding ring, Nathan had a custom ring built for Molly at Siebke Hoyt. She had known that he was making a special ring for her to give her down the road, but she had no idea when or where the magical moment would happen. The couple took a summer vacation to Duluth, Minnesota, what Molly thought was just a summer get-away on Lake Superior. Little did she know that Nathan had been planning something memorable for that trip. Prior to leaving on their vacation, Nathan had purchased what in essence was a replica of the ring that Molly had selected. This “fake” ring would be the vehicle used to make one of the most entertaining and memorable proposals of all time… as you will see in the video! They say the rest is history, but this is one story that has a lifetime of memories still to be written. They plan to say “I do” on June 9th, 2012!

Eddie and Kait met on stage playing a couple that gets engaged. They continued to develop their friendship during 4 more shows (oddly enough, all with a marriage theme), leading to a wonderful romance. Over a year after they first met a real engagement is made official on stage during a performance of The Drowsey Chaperone on April 30, 2011.

In the show, Eddie plays a harried producer (Mr. Feldzeig) who is desperately trying to break up his star's upcoming marriage in order to prevent her from leaving show business. When it is obvious that the wedding is a sure thing the rather talentless but persistent Kitty corners Mr. Feldzeig into letting her be the new star and into marrying her. On this particular night, Eddie has a surprise for both Kait (a chorus member in the show) and most of the cast. Rather than marry Kitty, Kait is pushed out on stage by her dance partner to find Eddie getting down on one knee. Kait says yes! This is where the video ends, but the wonders of the proposal didn't end there that evening.

Following this scence is a dance number involving four marriages, including Kitty and Feldzeig. However, after the proposal, Kait gets to join Eddie in the dance where they sing "I do" to each other. The couple will be saying their real "I do's" on September 24, 2011 on an outdoor stage in Iowa City.

The day was June 18, 2011, my mom's birthday actually. A couple friends invited us to a Kernels' game because she said she got tickets from her boss and had a couple extra. Talk about a set-up. It was like any other Kernels' game we'd been to, I never noticed anything different. Then came the middle of the 6th inning; and our lives changed forever! The jumbo screen in center field read, "Vikki Lynn Bartosh, will you marry me?" As you see in the video, my jaw dropped!
By the time I read the screen, Rodney was down on one knee with ring in hand. And then he asked, "Will you marry me?" I had no idea he had this planned. Our dating anniversary is the end of August, so I was expecting it then. He had this set up for a whole week before it took place.
He had even invited family and friends to the game, told them where we would be sitting so I would not see ahead of time. So after this amazing moment, we made the rounds to say hello to everyone who showed up to the game. And to make it even more special, my mom was on a radioactive pill since she had her thyroid removed due to cancer, so she could not be in close proximity of people. There just happened to be an open suite, so she was able to stay there by herself and watch from above. Literally, she was in the suite above our section. This is definitely a day we will never forget!

For our two-year anniversary, Andrew and I wanted to celebrate by sky diving; a plunge we have both dreamed of doing. Due to some circumstances, we had to postpone our jump. After 1 ½ years of patiently waiting, we finally managed to find the time and the money to scratch an item off our bucket-list. On July 17, 2010, Andrew and I made the 2-hour drive down to Skydive Midwest in Sturtevant, WI. The day was packed with anxious first-time divers including ourselves. After 5 hours of patiently and anxiously waiting, it was finally our turn. Before boarding the plane, Andrew had told both of our cameramen that he planned on proposing after we landed; I had absolutely no idea! After many flips and turns 15,000 feet in the air, Andrew managed to land on the ground safely with the ring still in his pocket. I landed smoothly on the ground only to get the biggest surprise of my life. Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Words cannot describe all the emotions that I was feeling at that moment; this honestly was the best day of our lives and we couldn’t be happier!

Jason and I were at Universal Studios in Orlando on vacation last May. We went to Florida for his dad's wedding and decided to spend some quality time at Universal, since we both love movies. There are several staff members that walk around to get the attention and time of tourists for promotional deals. By the time the 3rd person stopped to talk to us, I told Jason I wanted to try to avoid these people because I just wanted to enjoy our time together at this great park. A guy named George stopped us before we got on The Mummy ride and asked us to stop and see him after we got off the ride. When we were finished with the ride, we saw George in the gift shop and I told Jason that we should just brush past George so he wouldn't see us. Jason told me we should just go talk to him to see what he wanted to talk to us about. Reluctantly, I agreed and I'm so glad I did. George started walking and talking with us, asking me questions and writing my answers on a clipboard. Before I knew it, we were headed towards the back of Universal Studios and nobody else was back where we were. He opened a gate and told us he wanted to show us the behind the scenes area of the park. He then started talking about the different special promotions they do for businesses and individuals. He said they sometimes put special messages on their marquee, such as the one right above my head. He told me to take a look, so I did. It read "Jessica Will You Marry Me" and it took me a brief second to realize it was meant for me!! I turned around, in complete shock, to see Jason walking towards me with an open ring box. It was AMAZING! Come to find out, he'd been planning this for months with George. I had absolutely no idea and it was the best proposal I could have ever asked for! We're down to just over a month until our wedding and I am so excited to marry this man!
