This video was taken at the Hartwig Marina on the bridge that crosses Lake Delhi. As we stood on the bridge, boat docks and boats were being swept down the river and pounded against the bridge. This video shows an entire pontoon boat with the roof of it's dock still covering it being swept under the bridge.

There are always heartless individuals who leave inappropriate comments to tragic news stories. My husband and son nearly died in a tragic fall and people still left comments joking about it. To those at Delhi- the compassionate people DO care.

It appears to me the flood gates did not operate properly at the height of the flood. This will be a lesson to other weir operators. Flood gates are normally exercised regularly in anticipation of events such as this.

Sorry for your loss, but you will all recover. Been there, done that. Things'll be a bit different, but you'll recover as long as no one does anything stupid and dies. BTW, does anybody there know how to spell? Every comment had bad spelling...

Are thoughts are with the Lake Delhi residents. We were just there the other day boating. That is a favorite place for our family and it breaks my heart to see the damage.

Delhi resident... I have no compassion for people who are stupid and build along a river. Rivers flood. Always have and always will. They gambled and lost. Deal with it!

Woody says ... on Saturday, Jul 24 at 5:29 PM

I know what you all going through and wonder about our small dam, what would happen. Hope no one is injured or kill over this and may you be safe.

Delhi resident says ... on Saturday, Jul 24 at 5:15 PM

I have a place on this lake and their is no way to save a boat that is lost in a flood like this. The current is so fast that it would harm any one who tried to do this. You obviously have no compassion for people who are losing their lifesavings!

Not funny, Caitlin. Many people are out of their homes. I'm thinking this is nothing to make light of.

Nick says ... on Saturday, Jul 24 at 4:46 PM

Why didn't someone take a rope and tie it to the boat and pull it off to the side? There goes someones pontoon boat.
