Forest City was the host of the 2007 Iowa Fire Fighters Convention held Sept 12-16th. Urbana volunteer FD placed 1st and 2nd in the state for the waterball competition. The fight came down to a 5" win for Terry Becker, 1st asst chief against Trent Kramer, 2nd asst chief. Terry was backed by Warren Richart Jr, BJ Cook and Jim Takes. Trent was backed by Myland Hepker, Jeff McKee and Rob Coleman. This is only the 3rd time in 129yrs that the same town has won 1st and 2nd place in waterball at convention and the first time ever that it has ended with the time limit running out!
