I adopted Sammy around 6 years ago from an animal shelter. He was missing his front paw when he arrived at the shelter. They think he got his foot caught in a trap and had to chew his foot off to get out:( After I adopted him my vet recommended amputating the rest of his leg as it was not healing. Sammy started out with a rough life, he was all skin and bones when I first met him and most likely had been abused. He is still somewhat skittish but is doing well and loves attention and he gets plenty:)
