This ominous dark sky in Cedar Rapids around 4:15 PM on June 23 marked the northern edge of a storm system that produced a tornado warning in Lone Tree, southeast of Iowa City. The system merely skirted Cedar Rapids and caused no damage from this vantage point, looking east and southeast from near the retail complex at C Avenue and Boyson Road NE.
