Zach Burhite who is 16 years old started racing at Hawkeye Downs last year in 2009 in the Hornet division. Last year was a huge learning experience for him and he has shown this year that he is using that knowledge to make him a better racecar driver!! He went from the back of the pack last year to being one of the top 10 contenders out of 24 to 27 Hornet cars each Friday night this season. His friends and family are his biggest fans and wish him the greatest success in his 2010 Racing season! Zach not only races at Hawkeye Downs, but is a State competitor for Marion HS in Cross Country, Bowling and Track this year! Way to go Zach! We hope we can get more people to come out and watch Zach and all his competitors on Friday nights this Summer at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.
