Kalona was hit with severe flash flooding on Tuesday June 15th, 2010 when a creek started to rise quickly. Many homes had water surrounding them as well as many roads in Kalona.
They are still working on pumping water out at Meadowbrook Mobile Home Park. The mobile home park is located just west of the creek that flooded over.
