A group of very talented, intelligent, service -minded, and not to mention beautiful young ladies from the Miss Linn County court are back from their busy week at the Miss Iowa pageant in Davenport, Iowa.
Miss Linn County, Gretchen Bruesehoff is a 23 year old student from the University of Iowa. Her career ambition is to be an Opera singer-voice teacher. Gretchen competed in Interview, Swimsuit, Talent which was Classical Vocal, On-stage Question and Formal Wear. At pageant, Gretchen promoted her platform which is The Importance of Music Education and is working hard to keep music education alive in our kids school systems.
The Miss Linn County Board who consists of Ainsley Hogan, Sarah Campbell-Williams, Courtney Hogan and Stephanie Runnells Eenhuis are very pleased to announce that Gretchen placed 4th runner-up over-all at the Miss Iowa Pageant and also was the receipent of the Miss Congeniality Award!
13 year old Anna Masengarb is Miss Linn's Outstanding Teen. She is from West Middle School and competed in Interview, Formal Wear, Fitness, and On-stage Question and Talent which she entertained audiences with vocals. Anna is passionate about her platform which is Skin Cancer Awareness and encourages the use of sun protection. She encourages individuals to stay away from outdoor tanning and tanning beds offerring suggestions like spray tanning as alternatives.
It is no cooincidence that the two Linn County Princesses have the same last name as they are in fact sisters. Emily Rose has been in pageants for 3 years now and her little sister Erica has recenlty followed suit. This year, Emily Rose was awarded the helping Hearts award for being a posative young role model, having a kind and giving spirit and her community service work. Both girls are local elementary students.
