Mare's Tail clouds (cirrus uncinus) dominated Eastern Iowa's evening skies Saturday, June 12, 2010. Photo one was taken along Highway 150 south of Independence, Iowa, while photos 2 and 3 were shot from the Sam's Club Gas Station on Blairs Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids. Mare's Tail clouds usually indicate a change to a more active weather situation.
