Oelwein High Seniors Received Diplomas

The event started with the high school’s band performing 2 songs.

The audience stood for the National Anthem and for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Principal Mr. Chad Kohagen welcomed all the friends and families to the ceremony. Then the Chamber Choir Sang “We are the world” by Michael Jackson & Lionel Ritchie.

Mr. Kohagen then presented the Honor Scholars. And Superintendent Mr. Jim Patera presented the Class.

The diplomas were presented by School Board members Kathy Adams, Dana Bostian, David Eick Candace King, Dave Schmidt, Charlene Stocker & Cindy Wilharm. The Class speaker was Heather Wendel. Heather was on the Honor Society & Had A 3.7 GPA during her entire 4 Years of High School.

The class then joined in a giant silly string celebration as the Class of 2010 celebrated its achievement. Oelwein’s Class Song for 2010 was “I Go Back” by Country singer Kenny Chesney.

After the ceremony the graduates shed tears and hugged their families and loved ones, took pictures and said their goodbyes.

Good luck to Oelwein Class of 2010. I wish them all the best of luck in the years to come!
