"Churning" Grant Wood, 1935

Three Rare Grant Wood Art Works-Bellevue

Presented by Off the Wall Art Gallery and The Great River Gallery, Bellevue, Iowa
Three rare Grant Wood artworks will be on display publicly this summer in two Bellevue, Iowa art galleries.
It is the first time the painting and lithographs have been on display since their creation in 1936. The pieces - “Churning” original gouache and pencil on paper, 1935 (image above); “Fertility” signed lithograph, 1939; “In the Spring” signed 1939 – will be at Off the Wall Art Gallery and The Great River Gallery from June 11 through September 14, 2010.
A strong regionalism movement in the Midwest has centered around Grant Wood. Wood’s influence on eastern Iowa’s past and present art scene has been a focus of these galleries. So it is a great honor for the galleries to display these rare works.
