I saw this in Mexico, Missouri. It had a green ball with definite orange trail behind it. It was an amazing sight.

I live in BFE and I was in my outhouse copping a squat when this thing flew over. I don't nearly crapped on my shoe the noise was so loud. And my Sears & Roebuck fell in to the hole.

I live in Kalamazoo, MI and several of us that were sitting out on my deck saw it. It didn't streak over us like most of you guys had though. All a sudden it got very bright in the west sky, like it came into our atmosphere over the lake.

April you're an idiot.

Debbie P. says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:46 PM

I unfortunately didn't see the actual meteor but several people in Ashland, Wisconsin had seen it. I actually heard the "sonic boom" after it had apparently combusted in the atmosphere! What an amazing thing to have been able to see this!

caroline says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 8:53 PM

We saw it up here in Minnesota-it passed right behind my house-------and it was as big as a house! Beautiful brilliant green with a long golden trail. The sky lit up like sheet lightening when it either hit the ground or vaporized!

April says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 8:34 PM

I thought maybe an alien was going to get me and probe my orifices. I would have welcomed that 8==D

johnnie says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 6:05 PM

Anyone think they know where the meteorite landed?

Bob saget. says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 4:49 PM

I was riding my Kawaski ninja when I thought "great here comes the lightning.". I look over and to my surprise it was actually a giant meteor. I instantly thought meteor, but then thought maybe it was a firework being so close to the river.

Noah says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 3:02 PM

Too cool! How often does that happen, especially in Iowa?

MrX says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 2:32 PM

This cop should probably get back to work. Doughnut break is over.

Linny says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 1:34 PM

I saw it alittle after 10. It wasn't a big ball of fire like the video. I was just south of Riverside and saw the meteor and it's long tail go across the sky to the north. It burned out as it went to the east. It was amazing and kinda scarey.

balla says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 12:04 PM

DTM says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 11:35 AM

My parents saw this on their way home. But from their view, they could see the tail of it. I didn't beleive them about it at first, but this is nuts.

abagale says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 11:21 AM

My dad and I were eating when I saw it out the kitchen window. Watched it soar and burn up into nothing. Veryyyyy awesome!

Dave says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 11:19 AM

What a great video!! Can I have a dash cam?? LOL!

Joyce B. says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 10:20 AM

I live in Oskaloosa, Iowa and saw the meteor. It was a huge brilliant green ball with a long yellow tail. Was falling at about a 45 degree angle. Awesome, wish I had a video camera at that moment.

madelene says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:54 AM

I live in Chicago and I saw it. It was so big but looked relatively close to the ground. I thought it could've be a plane crash. But it just disinegrated in the sky. It looked so close that I thought it may have been only 40 miles NW of us

charles says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:30 AM

I saw what I thought was a reflection of a car headlight in my laptop screen and couldn't figure out how a car's light could move so clearly across the screen yet shine in through the front windows and reflect off the window behind me. N Liberty.

Brian says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:28 AM

My wife and I saw the green flame and watched it explode just above the horizon. We are in Des Moines. It looked like fireworks.

raysir says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:24 AM

I saw a smaller piece as I was driving to work last night. It was bizarre! The piece I saw was smaller and I would swear that it landed some where between centuria, milltown and balsam lake wisconsin. No where as large as the one that was taped.

Rose says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:24 AM

This look like a big meteor has anyone found where it landed. It should have caused a good sized crater somewhere

hubthetrucker says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 9:22 AM

can't believe I missed it, that dashcam was only 8 miles away

We were sitting out on the patio and saw it, it was so amazing! You could actually see the trail of fire behind it.I thought at first that it was a firecracker until I realized the angle it was traveling. My kids just missed it by about 10 sec BUMMER!

amazon says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 8:30 AM

It was a meteor. It's not a meteorite until it hits the ground and leaves particles on the ground.

Jared Olar says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 8:19 AM

A lot of people all over central Illinois saw this too, so it had to be pretty high up in the atmosphere. Looks like it was a really big one.

1stperiodphysicalscience says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:54 AM

I live in the country north of Petersburg, Iowa. (west of Dubuque 30 miles) Although I never saw the meteor, I was reading the paper and heard a loud noise...sounded a little like a big clap of thunder. The house literally shook. very strange.

Tim says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:42 AM

My friend and I were walking on a high ridge east of East Dubuque. We saw it coming from a distance and the closer it got the more scared we became. When it went past right in front of us you could literally see the flames in it's long trailing tail.

Jared says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:39 AM

By the way i live ogden iowa it almost looked like it landed in boone it was so big

Srey Sataad says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:38 AM

Saw it right when it was dying! So close to us! I got really scared cause I was really confused as to what it was! (I thought maybe a piece of depris from a burning airplane!? lol) but it was a bright green then faded into a firey orange, then died.

Jared says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:37 AM

I wish I could have seen it all but I saw just a small flare of light at the end 6 miles north of Ollie, Ia

Mr Spock says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 7:01 AM

I believe a meteorite is what the chunk of stuff is called that actually settles on earth. This would be a meteor if it is still airborne.

Tara says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 6:10 AM

Oh my that was way cool!! i didn't get a chance to see it wish i did. great video - thank you for sharing!!

chris says ... on Thursday, Apr 15 at 5:56 AM
