Sirens were wailing as a possible funnel cloud drifted left to right over the road in this view from the Echo Hill Presbyterian Church parking lot at 9000 C Avenue in Marion, Iowa. The lowering, shown here at 7:18 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2010, dissipated about a minute after the photo was taken. This view looks north.

That was what hit my place just east of Alburnett. Knocked down some trees, limbs, and tore off some fascia on a couple of my buildings.

I have no idea what you guys are on but that picture isn't even close to being a funnel cloud. Perhaps it developed into one later but that is an anvil cloud. There was too much outflow for any rotation at all to be formed for a funnel cloud.

That is the craziest tornado I have ever seen! I bet that did a lot of damage to peoples houses and barns. I hope everyone is ok after that devastating tornado!

I find it amusing to see home many people figure any low-hanging cloud in a storm is a wall or funnel cloud. I'm surprised no one has turned in the exhaust plume from Duane Arnold yet...

Hey Guys, They are right. This is a anvil cloud. A funnel cloud that is coming down to form a tornado is rotating, sometimes very slowly but rotating..............Mostly they come down out of wall clouds. Maybe straight line winds did damage?

Really people? Anvil Cloud?! That is defined as the layer of cloud at the top of the storm where it spreads out thus appearing like an anvil... don't act like you know what you are talking about if you don't. That is how false reports come in.

How about leaving the cloud identifications to the meteorologists, they don't sound like a bunch of bickering morons.
