i was awakened from my nap to a clear sky yet golf ball, and some bigger, sized hail! about 10 minutes after the storm, my friend and i went outside and collected this hail...the biggest chunks were averaged at 2.5 inches in diameter! and this was 10 minutes after, so it had melted quite a bit!!!!! we are located ON the UNI campus and these are pieces of hail from the quads courtyard behind hagemann.
