Our family was gathered to celebrate our granddaughter's 6th birthday. There were storm warnings out, but no tornado warnings or watches.
About 5:00 p.m., a thunderstorm warning came on the television and they said "a front" was approaching. Someone looked out the window to the north and said the sky was really getting dark. But to the south, there was blue sky.
Suddenly the front was directly over the house and so low it was like we could almost reach up and touch it. After a few quick photos, we headed back indoors to watch the radar for a tornado. The black cloud passed almost as quickly as it appeared and no damage was reported, but for awhile, it certainly looked like we were headed for Oz!!!
