Tuesday~continuing the moving of an old feed mill in Washington, Iowa by Jeremy Patterson. I observed over 5 hours today in the preparation of moving the old feed mill on North 7th Ave in Washington. I was fasinated by all the many workers and all their specific jobs that go into the preparation of moving a large brick building. It reminded me of an ant hill and all the many ants going into and out of the hill! Many utility departments were standing by to wait their designated time to act. Our Washington Police Dept was on hand to direct all the interested observers.

You want to know what reminds me of an anthill being created? A new building actually being constructed does. What will be more fascinating is when the building falls apart and all that money just went down the toilet. Then what?

Again...why?? Following the $$ is the only common sense answer.

It is a neat move. But we as a town should have spent the 2mill on some of our real history.like the first county hospital in the USA But no one listen to reason then so why do we think they would now?

this is the biggest and stupiest waste of money for a small town like washington, He is only worried about the tv, it has gone to his head. Jeremy was supposed to speak at rotary today in cedar rapids and he cant even call to say he cant make it

WOW!! I would really like to know where you all get your facts?? Because your all dead wrong..2million dollars get real. Get the facts straight then give your opinions until then don't talk.

Jealous much! A sucessful guy from Washington trying to do good and you all just hate on him. If the building falls really I love how hateful people are. Wishing harm for others really your all sad. When the building makes it safetly all I'll say HA!

I don't really get why everytime someone try to do something to help a community everyone appears from no where with there negative outlooks and comments. I don't see any of you doing anything to help. So until then please try and be positive.

I agree with sassychic. To say he only does this for tv and that it's gone to his head sounds like jealousy to me as well. He is a business man trying to make a living like eveyone else. To wish failure on someone because you don't agree Jealousy!!

My name is Jordan and I work for Jeremy and I would usually not say anything. But rolnlow I don't know where you get off saying no one called the Rotary club. B/C I am the one who called to say he would be unable to attend.

Sassychic, who ever stated that they wanted someone to get hurt? I dont remember reading any blog about that. I do remember saying I would find it funny if the building fell apart. (Not with someone in it) Who would pay for the mess then?

The power outage in Washington was NOT due to Patterson house moving. If you'd get your facts straight before you post you'd know the truth. To sitting in the dark- do you read the paper? Seriously, they (JPHM) has done everything required necessary

I can tell you TLC is trying to portray the Washington community in a nice way. So I doubt you'll be on tv~ sitting in the dark. Average Joe- I beg you to prove to me, that any of your tax dollars are going to this move. A million dolllar move LMAO!

its funny people respond to things that dont mean anything got money from the tif program how about things that mean something like the ambulance might be moving the waste of power to keep the lights on up town all night

I think it is a waste of time and money. If were not paying for it now we eventually will be. An the power outage was because of Jeremy maybe if you (Grandmad) would read the paper correctly you would know that.

I also don't like the fact that beautiful trees were torn down for this. Just an FYI "Grandmad" Jeremy is a SELFISH JERK. Just take a look at what happened in New Orleans.
