The town of Oelwein decided it's time to move past the hard times in their town... so they buried them.
Complete with a procession and band, "Bury the Doom and Gloom" aimed to promote a more positive image of the community.
Research conducted in the town found it was suffering from negative attitudes from residents.
The hope of tonight’s event is to spark growth through positive thoughts so the town can move strongly into the future.
Following the funeral the community was invited to a street dance to celebrate the good things Oelwein offers.
