We are the Decker Family and It is 9:00 AM December 9th 2009. We are here at 155th St near Charles Road in Mechanicsville, Ia and getting pounded by the snow and wind. Wind has been blowing the snow on to the west side of our house, and is now up to 24" high in some spots.
My Kids were trying to play in it and could not stand it for more then 5 minutes at a time. Just facing toward the wind will literally take your breath away and feels like sand being blown on your face. My 6 year old boy thought he would be cool and not wear gloves, and not 2 minutes later he came in crying and his hands were red from the wind. He is fine now, but a word of caution, make sure the little ones and yourselves are wearing all the proper attire for this weather or you just might regret not doing so.
