Emma was a gift to my grandmother 4 1/2 yrs ago. Grandma had lost her dear companion Chu-Lin but still had lots of love to give to a furry child. So as a Valentines present, we got Emma for grandma & she loved her very much! Recenty, grandma's alzheimers has gotten much worse & she was no longer able to care for Emma in a way that she deserved. I offered to take Emma in as my own & I have not regretted one minute of it. I already had a 7-yr old black cocker spaniel named Reggie (named after Reggie Evans from IOWA Basketball) who was the love of my life and I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the attention away from him. But I knew I could give her a spoiled rotten home that she would just love and deserved. In the end couldn't resist that cute little face of hers & I brought her home! I had no idea Emma would actually be a blessing to me. I lost Reggie on June 28th, 2009 to liver cancer, just a few months after getting Emma. I tell everyone that Reggie was my puppy soulmate. Reggie & Emma were the best brother/sister combo I've ever seen. Emma has been exactly what I need since Reggie passed. She makes me smile, crack up laughing out loud, and reminds me of what a wonderful loving impact a dog can have on a person. While Reggie is in puppy heaven with his favorite things like tennis balls, fortune cookies & Jumbones surrounding him, Emma is here taking care of me & keeping my spirits up until I see him again. What an amazing little sweetheart! I just love her like crazy!
