A little history about me. I was an abused Siberian living in the Milwaukee area. My owners never fed me or gave me water. They kept me on a short leash and never paid any attention to me. Some nice people reported me to the police so they came and told my owner if they didn’t surrender me they were going to press charges. So the policeman took me away.
I then went to the Milwaukee shelter where I was really withdrawn and no one wanted me. I was getting close to my time and my foster mom and another lady came to the shelter because they rescue dogs to adopt out to good families. The other lady didn’t seem to think I was a good enough dog so they went home and left me. My foster mom thought about me all night and called again the next day to rescue me. What a lucky day this was and probably the most important day in my life!
I went and lived with her and her family in Pardeeville, WI for 8 weeks until my new family adopted me. I guess I didn’t realize how close I was to doggie heaven.
My mom and dad were from Iowa. I shook all the way home to Dubuque, IA. I laid on my new owner’s lap all the way home scared to death wondering where these strangers were taking me. I grew so attached to my new owner because she was my savior and the wing beneath my paws. I grew so attached that when she left for work I developed separation anxiety. What a nightmare! Every day she came home I had done some kind of damage to their downstairs area. I scratched up their door, woodwork, wall and windows. I also relieved myself every single day and she would have to clean it up when she came home from work. I know she was getting to her wit’s end as it had been several months of this. My dad kept telling her to give it time as they were the fourth family and I just needed time to realize they were coming back home to be with me. I’m glad he believed in me!
I love my life now. I know I will never be left alone or ever abused again. I’m home to stay!!! In Heaven, No Iowa!!
I’M JUST GLAD TO BE ALIVE!!!!!!!
