Sunday, May 17th, 2009 -

  I was walking woods East of Marion Sunday about 10am after sitting earlier for turkey.

After my opportunity to shoot a turkey pretty much expired - I thot I would take a quiet walk to see if I might find one not paying attention or maybe taking a nap.  After about 20 min - I happened to walk right up on this sleeping fawn.
 
           It looked like a male, and he must have had a tough night running from something because he was sound a sleep!

I was fortunate enough to take five pictures hoping to get a good one of his face - but there was a tree in the way - so this is about as good as it gets. I thot about petting him - but decided to just walk away.
 
           Its nice to get out in the woods like that - to see there is more in this world than political and economic issues going on all around us.  
 
           Nature at her most innocent and very best!!
