Sunday, May 3rd was a great day to spend in Mt. Vernon, IA at "Chalk the Walk 2009"!. The weather was awesome, the music great and plenty of smiling faces all around. This year's theme played off the children's story, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Plenty of artists graced the pavement of Main Street, but it was as much fun to see the chalk drawings by all the youngsters lining the sidewalks. Thanks, Mt. Vernon! We'll be back next year for more fun.
