That's funny, I checked with Joe Winters before I put it up, checking if it was sleet or hail (I'm not an expert!) But he says it's sleet.

hey lets all take joe winters job. look at the window...its raining.. looks like a chance of rain today. no other profession where you can be wrong so often and get paid. oh and I had 10 people ask me today if i saw the hail.. no one said sleet

Hail is made from water droplets getting cycled through the updraft of a thunderstorm until they are strong enough to fall out.Sleet is basically formed by rain passing through a layer of freezing air on its way to the ground and freezing.
