NTS-The not to reliable service

NTS-Why they stink
Hi, my name is Renee Wenzel and NTS has screwed me up so much, I lost count. The one that broke the straw happened Monday December 1, 2008. When it came time for my ride to be here, they didn't show up. At first I thought that they may be lost. I did move just a few weeks ago and they may be still finding their way. So I gave them till after 8 pm to show up which they never did. After I called them I found out that there were there- 20 minutes early and they left without a honk. They didn't even bother to get out and knock on the door or call me. I ended up missing a night of work and I was really needed there due to recent employee changes. This is not the first time that they screwed up. There were times when they never bothered to show up and when I called, they claim they never got it. Note to people: NEVER EVER LEAVE A MESSAGE N THEIR MACHIENE IN THE OFFICE SINCE THEY DON'T RESPOND TO THEIR MESSAGES ON THEIR MAIN LINE. I remember two times when I was at PCI when they screwed up. One week they showed up too late and the other week too early. They never bothered to tell me that I should of done it week by week. Aparently they can't schedule two weeks in advance. They told me after the second week about it. A little too late.Another time I called in and scheduled my ride. While I did it, mom was right next to me and heard everything. But when the day arrived they didn't show up and claimed that I didn't set it up. My mom was my witness to me calling and setting up the right so I know and my mom knows that they are just trying to cover up their tracks. There have been other times when they would show up too late. I even have seen other people get screwed. One time they showed up at 8:10 pm on a 9:00pm pickup. I heard of a time where they were an hour late. I also heard about a coworker of mine Arraf. They picked him up and dropped him off to work on Saturday too early and our boss (who had the night off) had to come and let him in. I have heard at least 2 coworkers threaten to quit if NTS would continue to screw with them. I am sick and tired of it. I am done with NTS. I will now ride a cab when my mom can't take me or pick me up from work. I depend on a ride so that I could work which will pay my bills and help me get the things that I need/want. Without my job, I wouldn't be able to afford a phone and a credit card. I would be stuck with thirty dollars a month in allowance money. Especailly in this day and age, thirty dollars a month won't get you very far at all.

NTS is an unreliable service. They make mistakes and try to claim that it is yours. Sure there may be times where it is the persons fault. But don't try to blame your driver's inability to honk the horn on the riders. If NTS screws enough people with enough times, they will lose their job(s). And I certainly don't want that to happen. They need to learn that even though there is no competition out there (other then the cab) that they don't have a right to treat their customers bad.. They need competition, they need to learn to be more reliable. Its sad that for one dollar, you get a more reliable ride then for five dollars. If I had my way, the city bus will have buses for the nights and Sundays (if they can find people willing to work Sundays) so that NTS can be stopped. I know that there are other people that is as sick and tired playing the NTS screw up game as I am.NTS needs to learn that just because we are handicaped, does not mean that we have feelings and that they can screw with us.

My advice for peope: Unless you can't afford it, take a cab when the buses arn't running. I take Century myself, but if you choose the Yellow cab, go for it. A cab is more relaible. They will honk, go to the door, and/or even call you if you don't show up (at least for Century, dunno if Yellow does the same but I think that they do). They won't leave you stranded. Heck the city bus is more reliable. In all of my years in the cabs and buses I have had a few issues with both, but they all had good reasons for them and was easily fixed. And note I said few. A lot less issues with the cab and the bus then I have with NTS.

I may do final touches to this and give the finished copy to the editorial on the gazette.

Are you truly saying that they never helped you out? That they never met their goal of being a NON-PROFIT service organization? The employees don't even make that much; because to them helping people is what matters. No good deed goes unpunished.

cabbie2 says ... on Friday, Jun 18 at 6:36 AM

It is a regular practice to onk between the hours of 7am and 9pm for me as a cabbie. The reason I refuse to honk between 9pm and 7am is, children are sleeping. I'm not being rude in saying if you have called for a ride you should be watching.

what NTS needs to do is say what they mean and mean what they say. Like if you tel them that your pick-up time is 5a.m. than at 5a.m they should be there not at 5:15 or 5:20. I ride NTS and there are times I've had to wait 20 min.

just me says ... on Monday, Sep 21 at 10:12 AM

do you understand that nts must make a special bus route every day using the addresses of the people who want to ride? if you are not outside waiting, should they sit around and wait for you making the next person on the route late?

Cabs in C.R. are a RIP-OFF. They're an outrage, esp. the one that starts with C. Costs so much it stinks.

Ellie Cartuglia says ... on Saturday, May 2 at 11:45 PM

A certain taxi company (starts with C) leads the way in demanding rate hikes, getting them, costing more than cities that are far larger... and for what?/// It's time for an alternative.

reply to free stuff says ... on Wednesday, Jan 28 at 1:04 PM

Free Stuff, NTS is not free. Its five dollars to ride a service that's not that reliable.Heck when they make mistakes, they lie and try to pin it on the rider.

free stuff just isnt what it used to be says ... on Monday, Jan 26 at 12:08 PM

One time a local store was giving away free stuff and when i got there, I didnt need any of the stuff they were giving away!! Can you believe it!! If they are giving something for free at least have something I can use.

bill r. says ... on Wednesday, Jan 14 at 2:04 AM

NTS really needs to get it together because all the stuff they are pulling it is going to start to make people very angry you guys needto have a more reliable service no matter charles when ever i would show there or call he would be very rude.

Anonymous says ... on Saturday, Jan 3 at 1:18 PM

I didn't think it was free? From what I have heard people had to pay for their rides.

bill richter renees coworker says ... on Friday, Jan 2 at 1:13 AM

i also ride nts nights and i have had some drivers be rude to me and they what really makes me mad is when we get done with work and we try calling the cancelation line no one bothers to pick up the phone why and we are very sick of this.

To the schedule question says ... on Monday, Dec 22 at 12:50 PM

No it has to be 24 hours in advance.

Not Bob says ... on Sunday, Dec 21 at 6:01 PM

I'm giong to have to agree, I've lost 3 days of work because of NTS and was told that the next time it was going to be loss of a job. I ride to work now in a cab when I can't make the bus.

anonymous says ... on Sunday, Dec 21 at 5:27 AM

where do you get the idea that the service is free, and by the way they make you make the appointment at least 1/2 hr early, and they still do get there on time

To Anonymous says ... on Friday, Dec 19 at 11:34 PM

NTS isn't free. Full fare is five dollars a ride. I can understand that they can't wait around but they need to HONK (at least a minute) before they leave.

Anonymous says ... on Friday, Dec 19 at 6:42 PM

its a buisness, they can't wait around and make the next guy late, sorry for you rmissfortune ut lets not get to ben out of shape for a free service!

Jared says ... on Thursday, Dec 18 at 10:10 AM

How is NTS going to improve? I guess the answer to the question is actually take concerns that other people have instead of throwing them aside which won't happen because there is no customer service so why should the community go to advisory group.

Mike says ... on Friday, Dec 12 at 11:42 PM

I do care about people. I invite any of you that have concerns about the service to join an advisory group to improve NTS. Once again, call 286-5725 ext 208 to join the group, express concern, or ask questions..

mary says ... on Friday, Dec 12 at 3:46 AM

you know what I think, the nts don't care about people and their feelings they just want to keep the ones they like to where they go on time, they don't care, if others get picked up or not they just want to stay on their schedules

jared says ... on Thursday, Dec 11 at 1:57 PM

I got in a similiar situation and NTS told me to settle down when I was not happy with them. What happen to the customer is always right? NTS should start this. Why is the city throwing tax payer dollars away on a product that is worth nothing.

larae wenzel says ... on Thursday, Dec 11 at 9:16 AM

What I want to know is why can't they honk when they come up.? What is the big deal they dont even have to leave the car, it is so rude that they can not announce themselves, and why should someone have to stand out in the cold for 10 min

afraid to call NTS says ... on Wednesday, Dec 10 at 10:37 AM

I would be very afraid to call NTS as I know one of their drivers who kept driving even AFTER he lost his license due to drunk driving!

reply to mike says ... on Wednesday, Dec 10 at 9:13 AM

Tried that in the past.

Mike says ... on Monday, Dec 8 at 3:13 PM

Sorry you feel badly about the service. We are a shared ride service not a cab service. Passengers are expected to be ready and looking for us when we we arrive. We don't honk or knock on doors. Feel free to call 286-5725 ext 208 with concerns.

To Get a car says ... on Saturday, Dec 6 at 1:44 PM

Maybe you didn't read where they are handicapped

me says ... on Saturday, Dec 6 at 7:57 AM

What about getting a job with NTS? That might just solve your problems!

I agree says ... on Friday, Dec 5 at 2:58 PM

I havent rode on NTS for years, I think it was when they 1st started. They havent changed one bit. The same stuff used to happen to me and my friends that rode. They even cost me my job once. I agree something should be done! City regulated???

Or, get a car says ... on Friday, Dec 5 at 11:05 AM

Or you could, get a car. Or walk. I mean, its a free service, ain't it? You can't expect much. People these days.
